Their debut album, ‘You Are Magic’, will be released on January 21
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – What started as family fun for Jared Mees and his 2 daughters is now so much more. The Beaverton family is causing a stir in the world of children’s music.
Mees and her daughters – July 9 and Piper 5 – are known as Triple rainbow.
“We write the songs together. We think about the things that we meet and face every day, so sometimes it’s a song like a ‘dance party’, ”Mees told KOIN 6 News. “Sometimes a song is super silly and never sees the light of day, and sometimes we like it and like, just keep singing it and decide to record it and everything.”
“It’s fun,” July said. “Not just see it, like, when you walked into your house because you know you did, but, like, anyone can see it.”
Although they have been playing music for years, Triple Rainbow came of age during the pandemic.
“We had COVID in August and started manufacturing all of this because we couldn’t leave the house for 3 weeks,” Mees said.
Creativity is family. He and his wife, Brianne, co-founded Tender Love Empire, which presents local creations in 6 stores, including 2 at the PDX.
Their label “Brave New People” release Triple Rainbow’s debut album, “You Are Magic”, January 21. And they take their act on the road.
“We want to write more songs. Yeah, we want more songs, ”July said.
“You know, we just want to have a good time with people,” Jared said, “to bring some light to the world.”
