Stunning Fleet pub garden on a pond with magical catering pods 10 mins from Surrey

With the warmer weather finally here, many of us flocked to our favorite beer gardens. Sipping a glass of wine or a pint of beer with the sun on your back is one of life’s simple pleasures, and it’s no wonder so many of us love to do it.

Just a 10 minute drive from Surrey is a pub garden that certainly has the wow factor. Set on a pond, not only can guests watch the sparkling water dance with swans, but they can also choose to dine in an igloo.

Heron on The Lake in Fleet is a cozy gastro pub with a nautical vibe. The interior of the cozy restaurant and the exterior on the terrace are decorated with seaside colors and furniture.

In addition to a beautiful veranda overlooking the pond, there is a large wooden deck with tables of two and four for al fresco dining, whether it’s lunch, dinner, or drinks in the sun. On the terrace is a magnificent capsule that can accommodate four to six people.

This oasis of peace is a unique and pleasant experience whatever the weather. You can watch the sun go by all day and set in the evening, or dine under the stars.

The capsule is yours for two and a half hours and requires a £50 deposit if you wish to eat and drink there. The pub also has a second pod that can accommodate seven to ten people, but this is currently closed.

Decorated with pastel artificial flowers and equipped with cozy blankets, it’s a magical place to have a meal facing the water. Food is served daily in the pub from midday and the cuisine is Mediterranean style.

From marinated olives, warm Italian bread and hummus for snacking, to hearty main dishes and fresh salads, there’s also a gluten-free menu, kids’ menu and vegan and vegetarian options.

There are plenty of dishes to share, tapas-style, including king prawn pil pil, crispy chilli chicken, duck croquettes and halloumi fries – perfect for lazy weekend afternoons.

As for mains, they start from £10.95 and some of the highlights include the traditional fish and chips, ribeye steak, shin and beer pie, Korean barbecue chicken burger and the sweet corn and edamame curry.
