MACON COUNTY, NC (FOX Carolina) — The Macon County Sheriff’s Office said several suspects have been charged following an extensive drug investigation by deputies.
Deputies said they worked with the Franklin Police Department to conduct an early morning raid on July 1, 2022.
At a pre-raid briefing, MPs were told they would need to take extra precautions as a baby was staying at the house.
According to deputies, the crews entered the house just before daybreak and detained everyone inside. In total, deputies located five adults and two children inside the house.
Following a search of the residence, four of the adults were charged. Deputies said they found several pieces of evidence in the house, including a gun and 12 grams of crack.
“These arrests are a direct result of excellent police work by everyone involved in the investigation,” Macon County Sheriff Robert Holland said. “We attribute much of our success to the help of the public who provided many tips using our mobile app.”
A neighboring family member took the children with them. A report was also filed with the Department of Social Services as the children may have been involved in drug dealings.
