More than 100 people show up for COVID-19 booster injections in Gaithersburg – NBC4 Washington

At a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Gaithersburg, Md., Workers braved the freezing cold on Saturday to register people, go through the process and ultimately, a bullet in the arm.

About 150 people showed up for their booster shots after learning that all adults were eligible for vaccination as long as they were fully immunized with Pfizer or Moderna at least six months ago or with Johnson & Johnson at least ago two months.

“I don’t want to catch Covid,” a woman laughed. “I don’t want to give Covid to anyone else. My six months have passed since my last shot, so [I’m here]. “

The CDC said people should make sure to bring their immunization cards to their appointments and that it’s okay to mix and match. So, for example, if you initially got the hang of Moderna, you can get a Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson booster and vice versa.

Some local people who received their reminders on Saturday said they were happy to have the chance to do so.

“It’s awesome. I mean, I don’t understand anyone who wouldn’t. I was lucky enough to go online this afternoon and have a walk-in, so great practical, ”said one man.

Many others have also said they want to make sure they get their third injection as soon as possible due to the significant transmission of COVID-19 reported in Montgomery County.

The data prompted the county to reinstate its indoor mask mandate after dropping it less than a month ago.

“It’s a burden. I feel a little less worried about what’s to come,” said another man.
