Midland music group helps local charity

MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar) – Voces Dei sings for everyone.

“It is such a blessing for us to bring Christmas joy to people who don’t always hear Christmas carols,” said group manager Rob Montgomery.

The group sings to help a local charity.

“This year… it’s AMOS… a regional missionary outreach service,” said Montgomery.

AMOS helps local families with emergency food and clothing. The talented group of musicians perform in hopes of raising funds.

“We’ve been doing this for about 20 years – for a total of about $ 60,000 – we’ve dedicated our time,” Montgomery explained.

The past two years have been difficult for many during the pandemic.

He continued: “We want to raise them, we like to find a group that people don’t know. [and] we want to spread the word about these missions.

Allison Peeler, who has been with the group for 19 years, said there was nothing quite like cheering people on.

“This is why the last year has been so difficult… there were days when we would sing several times a day and you can’t help but notice that other people’s morale is rising,” she said. declared.

The band is already booked to sing at several locations, but open for more.
