TORONTO, September 26, 2022 /CNW/ – More than 500 newsrooms and media support organizations around the world will unite in a global campaign on September 28 to show the value of factual journalism.
World News Day will be commemorated on six continents, among newsrooms of all sizes – from FinancialTimes (worldwide), The Globe and Mail (Canada), and The time of the straits (Singapore) in the northern hemisphere, at LA NACION (Argentina)News24 (South Africa), and other things (New Zealand) in the south.
The campaign will see global newsrooms running print and digital ads and using their social media channels, newsletters and other platforms to highlight the critical message that journalism matters and is worth supported, promoted and defended.
World News Day is at the center of a 90-minute in-person event streamed live of The World News Media Congress in Zaragoza, Spainat 15:00 CET/9:00 a.m. EDT on September 28.
