Grace and Heidi Motivate People to Achieve Health Goals at New Slimming World Group in Freckleton

Grace, 34, started her own group Slimming World in Freckleton after losing two stones in five months to the plan.

And eight-month-old Heidi joins her in class.

“They love to hold it and pass it. A thinner one asked for the baby’s weight, to see if it was more than what he had lost, ”Grace said.

The turning point for Grace came when she realized she was having a hard time going up and down the stairs.

She had also gone to buy new clothes and had to modify some items so that they did not rub.

St Annes mother survived covid after dramatic weight loss

“I just thought that after giving birth I would go back to my old size. It was the first time I had to have something bigger than a 14 and I was so mad at myself.

“I had to hang on to the handrail. I kept stopping because I was out of breath.

She joined Slimming World in July 2021 and lost five and a half pounds in her first week. This success motivated her to continue sessions at the South Shore Tennis Club, Midgeland Road, before starting her own group in Freckleton for the New Year.

Grace, who still has half a stone until she hits her personal target weight, says her secret is to think about making small changes that become a regular habit.

She added, “I’m not a gym person. My only exercise is to walk with Heidi in the stroller.

“Instead of sliding the Hoover, I started pushing it a little faster. When I go shopping in Blackpool, I take the stairs instead of the escalator.

Now she’s delighted to be able to walk up and down the stairs with ease.

Grace credits the success of her diet to swapping processed foods for more nutritious options that keep her full for longer.

Eat more fruits and vegetables, swap high-fat meats for leaner cuts, and pay more attention to portion sizes.

But the avowed chocoholic hasn’t cut out the treats she loves.

She added, “25 grams of milk chocolate is 7/12 sins, so I try to stick with that. “

And she suggests that you don’t be hard on yourself if you have a misstep. Research shows that negative self-talk is more likely to lead to comfortable eating and complete giving up. A softer approach is more useful in the long run.

Grace is now a full-time consultant for Slimming World, and her new band takes place every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family RC Lytham Rd Church, Freckleton. For details, call Grace on 07599405716.
