DoorDash Extends Fuel Rebate Program for Drivers Through End of Summer

The little things matter a lot in the business world. Of course, money helps too.

DoorDashGas Rewards’ efforts in both categories were evident last weekend when the company announced it was continuing its Gas Rewards programs for drivers through the rest of the summer to help offset rising gas costs.

The program, which began in March, will now run until August 31.

Here’s how the program works:

  • All Dashers are eligible for 10% Cash Back on Gas. Thanks to DasherDirect, a prepaid business Visa debit card designed for Dashers, Dashers will soon be able to earn 10% cash back on gas purchases – at any US station – every time they use their card , even when they are not rushing. DasherDirect is open to all US Dashers, with no credit check required to apply, and Dashers can start using a virtual card on digital payment screens as soon as they are approved.
  • Weekly fuel bonus for those who rush the most. Each week, Dashers who accept and fulfill orders totaling 100 miles in a motor vehicle will earn an additional $5 – and that extra revenue will grow the more they deliver. For 175 miles, for example, Dashers will earn an additional $10, and for 225 miles they will earn an additional $15. These additional rewards can add additional revenue between $1.27 and $1.69 per gallon for those who qualify, in addition to normal DoorDash pay, promotions, and tips.

In April, a company spokesperson estimated DoorDash drivers in New Jersey received a rebate of 41 cents per gallon. And, to be clear, the rebate is 10% off all gas purchased — whether it’s specifically for DoorDash delivery or for other purposes.

“Our goal is to ensure that we provide income opportunities that remain accessible and viable for everyone and keep the most money in Dashers’ pockets,” a company spokesperson said.

DoorDash hopes the incentive can attract new drivers.

Saying that it takes the median unemployed 13 weeks to find a job, DoorDash said working as a driver can serve as an alternative job. The company said many of those who join are eligible to work within a day of signing up.

The company said it believes its Gas Rewards program provides an additional incentive.

“At a time when so many are feeling the impact of rising gas prices, we are proud to offer flexible and valuable work opportunities with low barriers to entry,” said the gatekeeper. word.
