BACKGROUND GRID
DaBaby is facing criminal charges for a beating a man claims he suffered for trying to stop the rapper’s entourage from shooting a music video on his property.
The rapper has been charged with assault and battery by the LA County District Attorney’s Office … for an incident that occurred in early December last year … which allegedly left a guy, Gary PagarSeverly injured.
There is another man named Thank God Awute who is also charged. Prosecutors claim he was DaBaby’s cohort in the crime…they hit him with robbery.
Pagar filed a lawsuit in February, claiming he was attacked for enforcing the basic rules of renting property in his home.
DaBaby and his team rented a huge pad that Pagar manages in Los Angeles … and Pagar says he was told it would be a vacation spot for DB and his pals. Pagar says he clarified … there was a guest limit — no more than 12 — which he claims DaBaby’s management team agreed to in a rental agreement.
During their week-long stay…Pagar says he realized there were well over 12 people at the property at one point and complained to DaBaby’s team …making sure, falsely he said, that they wouldn’t be there for long.
Finally, on December 2, he says he visited himself and realized that they were shooting a music video there with a whole film crew and a ton of other people around – over 40, he said – and Pagar tried to shut the whole thing down by talking to DaBaby.
It was then that he claimed to have been attacked by a member of the DB team, part of which was filmed. He says DB ordered the guy to leave Pagar, but then allegedly punched him in the face, knocking out a tooth…this, according to the lawsuit.
DaBaby shot and killed 19-year-old Jaylin Craig in 2018, a shooting that the rapper said was in self-defense.
New security footage obtained by Rolling Stone shows DaBaby appearing to be the attacker and contradicts key aspects of his version of events. https://t.co/TGZjJ0Da6o pic.twitter.com/M7kbKur3U9

Looks like Pagar went to the authorities after that, and now they’re going after DB and co. A tough few weeks for DaBaby – this is just the latest incident for him in a seemingly non-stop series of events hiccups.
BESIDES, Jacques-Paul was random during this shoot…and the video appears to be of an artist signed to the DaBaby company, and he may have just made an appearance. Anyway, the video is out.
