Coldplay’s “Music Of The Spheres” Tour Launch Video

Coldplay released their Music of the spheres album last year – you know, the one with the chart-topping BTS collaboration “My Universe.” I didn’t like it as much as I liked the 2019 double album Daily lifebut I maintain that “Higher Power” goes.

The “eco-responsible” tour supporting Music of the spheres kicked off last night at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica. This was Coldplay’s first time playing in Costa Rica; it was also the first time they played some of the songs on Music of the spheres. About halfway through the set, they debuted the instrumental “Infinity Sign”, backed by Jon Hopkins, which led to a version of their Chainsmokers collaboration “Something Just Like This” with Chris Martin signing the lyrics while wearing some sort of alien (?) helmet. At the end of the show, sandwiched around “Fix You”, they did two more for the first time, “Humankind” and “Biutyful”. Since they were in Costa Rica, they also covered Manuel María Gutiérrez Flores’ “Patriótica Costarricense” at one point, and they welcomed HER on stage to replace We Are King on “Human Heart”.

Check out some fan-made footage of it all below.
