Boris Becker’s daughter says prison sentence ‘not fair’ in letter to judge

Boris Becker’s daughter has said her prison sentence was ‘not fair’ to the tennis legend’s young son. Anna Ermakova said she wrote to the judge who jailed her tennis champion father for two and a half years for bankruptcy fraud.

She asked for clemency for the sake of her 12-year-old son, Amadeus. She told German newspaper Bild: “I wrote a letter to the court to express my concern for my little half-brother, Amadeus.

“After all, he is only 12 years old and will now have to do without a father figure, who he will miss during a difficult phase of his development.
“It’s not fair on him. It’s going to be hard on Amadeus.”

Ms Ermakova also told Bild: ‘I will support him and visit him whenever I can. Hopefully this will help him through time a bit.’

The Wimbledon champion and former world number one was sentenced to 30 months in prison ??? The tennis hero has been jailed after being found guilty of several insolvency law offenses related to his bankruptcy in 2017.

He was found guilty of hiding £2.5million in assets and loans to avoid paying his debts. The 54-year-old was declared bankrupt on June 21, 2017, owing his creditors almost £50million, over an unpaid loan of more than £3million on his property in Mallorca, Spain.

Judge Deborah Taylor, sitting in Southwark Crown Court on Friday, said he had shown “no humility”.

Becker has two sons, Noah, 27, and Elias, 22, with his first wife Ms Feltus, as well as Amadeus with his second wife, Dutch model Lilly Kerssenberg.
